FAQ

This is a moderately challenging high-altitude trek, suitable for travelers with a good level of fitness and some prior hiking experience. While our initial days are designed for acclimatization, the trek includes significant elevation gain (up to 1,000m in one day) and 1 night at high-altitude campsite (4,350m). We recommend regular cardio exercise and hiking practice before departure.

Your safety is our priority. The itinerary includes dedicated acclimatization days and gradual ascent. Our expert mountain guides are trained in high-altitude first aid and carry essential medical equipment, including supplementary oxygen. And the itinerary has built-in buffer time to allow rapid descent back to lower altitude if needed (the most effective way to alleviate altitude sickness). If you are concerned or had previous experience of altitude sickness, we recommend consulting your doctor about altitude medication (e.g., Diamox) before your trip.

The optimal trekking seasons in the Meili Mountain range are typically Spring (April-May) and Autumn (late September-November) when the weather is generally more stable, and views of the surrounding peaks are the clearest. Check our upcoming departures to book your trekking adventure!

A detailed packing list will be provided upon booking. Essential items include sturdy hiking boots, layered clothing suitable for varying temperatures (from warm days to freezing nights at high altitude), waterproof and windproof outerwear, a daypack, headlamp, sun protection, personal toiletries and any personal medications. Don't worry if you forgot any essential gear, we have premium trekking and camping equipment that our guests can use for free.
